It’s also one that can quickly be taken for granted, as the joint is quite simple to make but even easier to forego in lieu of the weaker butt joint. Our latest OneTIME Tool ® makes laying out rabbets effortless. Each Rabbet Gauge is 4″ in length and has four steps, allowing you to lay out rabbets in standard stock thicknesses from a subtle 1/16″ all the way up to 3/4″ in 1/16″ increments.

Setting up your router table to cut rabbets has never been easier. No matter what diameter straight bit you have already in your table, simply position the bit just above the table, set the shoulder of the Rabbet Gauge to the bit, and align your fence to the rabbet gauge. Turn the Rabbet Gauge on its side and adjust the bit height to the rabbet shoulder. Make one pass through the router table or as many as you need, depending on the size and wood. No squinting or awkward adjustment angles, just perfectly sized Rabbets.
